Anyone who spends a long time in a wheelchair or on a mobility scooter may suffer from cold legs and feet more quickly. A good blanket offers protection and comfort, but not every model works in the same way.
Some people primarily want a blanket that can be put on and taken off quickly. Others are looking for extra protection around the feet, space for a center tiller, or maximum warmth during cold days.
That is why Belieff has different models. In this buying guide, we first explain how to read the warmth levels. After that, we discuss each blanket, cape, and additional heating solution individually.
This way, you can determine which product best suits your situation, moment of use, and desired level of warmth.
How to read the legend
A warmth level is provided for every model. This helps you to compare the different Belieff products with each other.
The warmth level indicates something about the relative amount of insulation and protection of the model. It is not an exact temperature measurement. How warm a product feels in practice also depends on the outside temperature, wind, clothing, duration of use, and personal sensitivity to cold.
Warmth levels
- ●○○○ Light: light protection with little extra insulation.
- ●●○○ Comfortable: pleasant warmth for daily use.
- ●●◐○ Comfortable to extra warm: more protection than an open model, while maintaining freedom of movement.
- ●●●○ Extra warm: extra protection, especially around the feet or upper body.
- ●●●● Maximum warmth: the warmest passive version, with maximum coverage or insulation.
- ●●●●+ Active electric warmth: the product does not just retain body heat but actively adds heat with electric heating.
Passive and active warmth
Standard Belieff blankets and capes offer passive warmth. The materials help retain body heat and protect against cold conditions.
The Heated Footmuff, Heating Pad, and the Heating Seat & Back Pad offer active warmth. These products use electric heating to generate warmth themselves.
What do the heating symbols mean?
- 🔥 Optional: a separate Belieff Heating Pad can be attached with Velcro strips.
- 🔥 Integrated: the heating is incorporated directly into the product.
- Not possible: the product is not prepared for the placement of a Heating Pad.
A higher warmth level does not automatically mean that a model is the best choice for you. Those who value freedom of movement and quick use might benefit more from an Open model than from the warmer, fully Closed version.
Furthermore, regarding the Rain Cape, the low warmth level says nothing about the protection against rain. This model is primarily developed to stay dry.

Flex warmth blanket: flexible and extra protected

Warmth level: ●●◐○
Heating Pad: optional
The Flex offers more protection around the legs and feet than the Open model, while retaining a great deal of freedom of movement.
The flexible underlayer can be placed under the feet. This creates extra protection at the bottom without needing to step into a fully closed blanket.
This makes the Flex an intermediate model for people who find the Open model not protective enough, but find a Closed model too restrictive.
Benefits of the Flex warmth blanket
- Flexible underlayer to place feet on.
- More protection around legs and feet than Open.
- Retention of freedom of movement.
- Equipped with hand pockets.
- Good balance between convenience, warmth, and protection.

Warmth blanket with footmuff: extra warmth around the feet

Warmth level: ●●●○
Heating Pad: optional
Cold feet can make a big difference in how comfortable a trip or moment outside feels. This model therefore features an integrated footmuff that provides extra protection and coverage around the feet.
The blanket is especially suitable for people who get cold feet quickly or sit still for longer periods. The rest of the model remains practical to use and features hand pockets.
Benefits of the warmth blanket with footmuff
- Integrated footmuff.
- Extra warmth and protection around the feet.
- Comfortable when sitting still for longer periods.
- Practical hand pockets.
- Can be expanded with a Belieff Heating Pad.
Choose the warmth blanket with footmuff if: warm feet make the most important difference to you.

Warmth blanket with two footmuffs: warmth with space for a center tiller

Warmth level: ●●●○
Heating Pad: optional
On some mobility scooters, the steering column runs between the feet. A wide, shared footmuff is not always practical in that case.
This model has two separate footmuffs. Both feet are enclosed individually, while there remains space between the footmuffs for, for example, the center tiller of a mobility scooter.
Benefits of two separate footmuffs
- Two separate footmuffs.
- Both feet are protected individually.
- Free space between the feet.
- Suitable for mobility scooters with a center tiller.
- Equipped with hand pockets.
- Can be expanded with a Belieff Heating Pad.
Choose the warmth blanket with two footmuffs if: you want warm feet and need space between both feet for, for example, a steering column.

Closed warmth blanket: maximum passive protection

Warmth level: ●●●●
Heating Pad: optional
The Closed warmth blanket fully encloses the legs and feet. Due to the closed construction, there are fewer openings through which heat can escape.
This makes it the warmest version without integrated electric heating. The model is suitable for cold days, longer moments outside, and people who have a great need for coverage.
On the other hand, getting in requires more actions than with an Open or Flex model. Those who primarily seek quick and easy use are therefore better off choosing a less closed version.
Benefits of the Closed warmth blanket
- Fully enclosing model.
- Maximum passive warmth.
- Extra protection around legs and feet.
- Fewer openings through which heat can escape.
- Equipped with hand pockets.
- Can be expanded with a Belieff Heating Pad.
Choose the Closed warmth blanket if: you are looking for maximum passive warmth and protection around your legs and feet and extra boarding time is not an issue.

Heated footmuff: three integrated heating zones

Warmth level: ●●●●+
Heating: integrated
The Heated Footmuff combines coverage with active electric heating. Instead of just retaining body heat, the product emits heat itself.
There are three heating zones incorporated into the footmuff. The hand pockets are also heated. Therefore, no separate Heating Pad is needed.
This model is intended for people who get cold easily and are looking for maximum warmth for their legs, feet, and hands.
Benefits of the Heated Footmuff
- Electric heating integrated into the blanket.
- Three built-in heating zones.
- Heated hand pockets.
- Active warmth instead of just insulation.
- Footmuff for extra protection around the feet.
- No separate Heating Pad needed.
Choose the Heated Footmuff if: you want maximum warmth and are looking for an integrated electric solution.
Belieff Cord: keep your blanket in place

The Belieff Cord is not a separate blanket model, but an adjustable fastening clip. This allows you to keep a suitable Belieff outdoor blanket in place better.
The Cord helps prevent the blanket from easily shifting or sliding off during use. The adjustable length makes it possible to adapt the attachment to the situation.
Benefits of the Belieff Cord
- Helps prevent the blanket from sliding off.
- Easy to attach and remove.
- Adjustable length.
- Suitable for Belieff outdoor blankets.
- Practical for use in a wheelchair or on a mobility scooter.
- Water-resistant and suitable for outdoor use.
Choose the Belieff Cord if: you want to keep your blanket in place more easily and comfortably.
Rain Cape: protection against rain and wind

Warmth level: ●○○○
Heating Pad: not possible
The Rain Cape is primarily intended to protect the upper body against rain and wind. The lightweight model is easy to put on and take off and forms a practical layer during wet weather.
The score of one warmth dot means that the cape offers little extra insulation. This says nothing about the degree of rain protection: warmth and rain protection are two different product characteristics.
Benefits of the Rain Cape
- Focused on protection against rain.
- Protects the upper body against rain and wind.
- Light and practical.
- Easy to put on and take off.
- Suitable for changeable weather.
A Heating Pad cannot be attached in the Rain Cape.
Choose the Rain Cape if: staying dry in the rain is more important than extra warmth.
Single-lined cape: warm protection for the upper body
Warmth level: ●●●○
Heating Pad: optional
The single-lined cape protects the upper body from cold and wind. Due to the single lining, this version is lighter than the double-lined cape.
The model is suitable for daily use and for people who want extra warmth but do not always need the heaviest or warmest version.
Advantages of the single-lined cape
- Protects the upper body from cold and wind.
- Lighter than the double-lined version.
- Comfortable for daily use.
- Easy to wear over outdoor clothing.
- Can be expanded with a Belieff Heating Pad.
Choose the single-lined cape if: you are looking for a warm cape without the maximum insulation of a double-lined version.
Double-lined cape: maximum warmth for the upper body
Warmth level: ●●●●
Heating Pad: optional
The double-lined cape is developed for maximum passive warmth around the upper body. The double lining offers more insulation than the single-lined version.
This model is especially suitable for cold days, people who get cold easily, and situations where you are outdoors for longer periods.
Advantages of the double-lined cape
- Double lining for extra insulation.
- Protects the upper body from cold and wind.
- Warmest passive cape version.
- Suitable for longer periods outdoors.
- Can be expanded with a Belieff Heating Pad.
Choose the double-lined cape if: you are looking for the warmest cape version for your upper body.
Heating Pad: add active warmth

Active warmth: ●●●●+
The Belieff Heating Pad is not a separate blanket model. It is an optional warmth upgrade for compatible Belieff blankets and capes.
The separate electric pad provides targeted, active warmth. Using Velcro strips, it can be attached to products prepared for this purpose. You can also easily remove it again.
The Heating Pad is suitable for
- Open.
- Flex.
- Warmth blanket with footmuff.
- Warmth blanket with two footmuffs.
- Closed.
- Single-lined cape.
- Double-lined cape.
The Heated Footmuff already has integrated heating. A separate Heating Pad is not needed for that. The Heating Pad cannot be attached to the Rain Cape.
Choose the Heating Pad if: you want to provide extra warmth to a suitable Belieff product without having to buy a completely new heated blanket.
Heating Seat & Back Support: active warmth where you sit

Active warmth: ●●●●+
The Heating Seat & Back Support provides targeted electric warmth to the back and seat area. Therefore, it is a different solution than a warmth blanket, which primarily offers protection around the legs and feet.
The heated seat and back support has three heat settings and, according to the product specifications, can heat up to a maximum of 49 °C. It can be used wirelessly with a suitable power bank.
Advantages of the Heating Seat & Back Support
- Electric heating for back and seat.
- Active, targeted warmth.
- Three heat settings.
- Maximum temperature of 49 °C.
- Can be used wirelessly with a suitable power bank.
- Easy to place and remove.
- Suitable for wheelchair and mobility scooter.
The power bank is sold separately.
Choose the Heating Seat & Back Support if: you mainly want extra warmth for your back and seat while sitting.
